Pakistan Marks Major Offshore Exploration Milestone with 21 New PSAs

May 21, 2026

With the signing of 21 Offshore Production Sharing Agreements (PSAs) awarded under the 2025 Offshore Bid Round, today marked a significant milestone for Pakistan’s offshore exploration landscape. The signing ceremony was graced by the Minister for Petroleum as the Chief Guest, underscoring the importance of advancing the country’s offshore energy potential. The PSAs were signed with MariEnergies, OGDCL, PPL, UEPL, OPI, and PIOGCL.

Two PSAs had earlier been signed in December 2025 with MariEnergies, Turkish Petroleum (TPOC), and Fatima Petroleum. MariEnergies had also previously become a partner in the TPOC-operated Indus Offshore-C Block through a farm-in.

With these developments, MariEnergies Offshore’s portfolio has now expanded to a total of 24 Pakistan offshore blocks covering 55,350 Sq Km, including operatorship in 18 blocks — reflecting a strong commitment to unlocking new exploration opportunities and contributing to Pakistan’s energy future.

The ceremony represents another important step forward in strengthening collaboration, accelerating offshore exploration efforts, and fostering long-term growth in the energy sector.
