Pakistan’s upstream growth with new exploration blocks

Mr. Ali Pervaiz Malik, hon’ble Federal Minister for Petroleum, graced the ceremony held on February 26, 2026, for the signing of Petroleum Concession Agreements (PCAs) and Exploration Licences that were provisionally awarded in April 2025.
MariEnergies has secured a strong position in the newly awarded blocks:
– Padag, Chagai, Dalbandin, Merui, and Merui West Blocks as Operator (100% Working Interest):
– Ahmad Wal Block as Operator (60% Working Interest):, with OGDCL as partner
– Khiu-II (40% WI) and Kalat South (30% WI) as Non-Operating Partner
On this occasion, MD/CEO Faheem Haider reaffirmed that the newly awarded blocks mark a strategic step in supporting the Government of Pakistan’s agenda to accelerate indigenous oil and gas exploration, reduce import dependence, and strengthen national energy security. He emphasized that through disciplined exploration, responsible investment, and operational excellence, MariEnergies remains committed to unlocking domestic resource potential and advancing sustainable economic growth.
